When does the January transfer window 2023 close for Premier League clubs?

Premier League clubs have been busy in recent weeks

The January transfer window has entered the final stretch, with just days remaining for Premier League clubs to complete their business before the window closes.

The headline news this month has been Chelsea’s eleventh hour hijacking of Arsenal’s deal to sign Mykhailo Mudryk, who had been seemingly set to sign for the Gunners before moving to the Blues for £88.5m.

Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile also arrived at Stamford Bridge, as did Joao Felix on a six month loan deal from Atletico Madrid.

Elsewhere, Liverpool wrestled in ahead of Manchester United to complete the signing of Dutch forward Cody Gakpo from PSV, whilst Arsenal boosted their title hopes with the signing of Leandro Trossard from Brighton.

But exactly when is deadline day?

Here is when the January transfer window 2023 closes.

When does the transfer window close?

The January transfer window will close for Premier League and EFL clubs on Tuesday, January 31 at 11pm.

Meanwhile, teams in Scotland will have until midnight to wrap up their deals.

Spain’s La Liga has an 11pm deadline, France’s Ligue 1 window shuts at midnight and Germany’s Bundesliga window will close at 5pm.

Clubs will still be able to sign free agents after the January transfer window has closed, whilst players in the last six months of their contracts can sign pre-agreements with clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
